If you live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, please join DFW Pit Crew, our Meetup group for responsible dog guardians interested in socializing, exercise and training their dogs! We also welcome anyone who works with dogs or can lend their expertise to the group, as we're always added new training partners. Most meetups are held in public places (like parks & events) or at dog-friendly restaurants, shopping areas etc, so the public can interact with us and our dogs. The best way to restore the image of pit bull-type dogs is to show people that they're just dogs!
We've partnered with certified force-free trainers and behaviorists and host private group classes in positive training, Canine Good Citizen certification, therapy dog preparation & evaluation, agility, weight pulling, nosework & flyball, first aid/CPR training, volunteer days at shelters...the list goes on and on! We always have something interesting on the calendar and with events in both the Dallas and Fort Worth areas, there's really something for everyone. All social meetups are free and educational meetups have a nominal charge to cover instructor and/or facility rental fees.
If your dog is reactive around other animals, we've got something for them, too! Some of our walks are held on wide, open, deserted, so the pups can relax and walk calmly at a distance with other dogs. We also host workshops for reactive dogs.
By joining the DFW Pit Crew, you'll become a part of a community of other responsible owners, our local shelters, vets, trainers, groomers, nutritionists, dog sports enthusiasts and pit-friendly business owners...people who understand and love all dogs. You'll have somewhere to turn when you have questions about adopting, fostering, training, behavioral & health issues, nutrition, volunteering, products for your dog, etc. We all benefit from the expertise that our various members bring to the table!
